Mark Soukup is President of Soukup, Bush & Associates, P.C., a position he has held since the formation of the firm in 1989. His extensive experience includes employment as a senior tax accountant at the Denver office of Arthur Anderson & Co. Mark graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. In 1978 he received his Masters of Science Degree, Taxation, from Colorado State University.
He oversees all areas of the firm's work. Mark specializes in tax planning for locally owned businesses, health care professionals and real estate enterprises. He has developed and taught national webcasts for the CSCPA on cost segregation studies of which the firm is a recognized leader in developing cost segregation reports.
One of Mark's passions is teaching continuing education seminars for the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA) in Colorado and many other states. Since 1984, 20,000 CPAs have attended his Tax Year in Review and Planning classes. He currently teaches Top 50 Tax Planning Ideas, Tax Planning with Limited Liability Companies and Limited Liability Partnerships and Advanced Planning and Case Studies for Partnerships & Limited Liability Companies for the CSCPA.
Mark has been an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants for over 25 years. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Northern Colorado, and on the Continuing Professional Education Board for the Colorado Society of CPAs. In 2009 Mark was recognized by the Colorado Society of CPAs as an "Everyday Hero" for making a difference in his community and the lives of others.
In his spare time, Mark enjoys spending time with his wife, Jenny, and his children Julie, Reed, Dan, Dan's wife Lauren and their daughter, Corinne. He is an avid bike rider and enjoys golf, reading and fly fishing.

Scott E. Bush, CPA, CVA

 Scott is a shareholder with Soukup, Bush & Associates, P.C. His focus is to provide creative and practical tax and accounting solutions for owners of privately held small and medium sized businesses. Scott's expertise is income tax and estate tax planning, valuation, accounting, auditing and management consulting. Scott is the partner in charge of the audit, accounting and valuation practice for the firm. He also became a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) in 1995.
Scott received his B.S. in Business Administration, Accounting, from the University of Northern Colorado in 1988 and is an active member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Colorado Society of CPAs and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. Scott has also served as President of the Northern Chapter of the Colorado Society of CPAs and is currently on the audit committee at the CSCPA. Scott is also actively involved in the Foothills Rotary Club of Fort Collins and in his church.
Scott enjoys spending time with his spouse Allison and his son Nathan, and he stays active playing softball, golf and long distance running.

Kristi joined Soukup, Bush & Associates, P.C. in January 2012, after working as a licensed insurance agent, and completing her education. Kristi will graduate from Colorado State University in May 2012 with her Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting. She prepares both individual and business tax returns. Kristi is a student member of the Colorado Society of CPAs and will pursue her certification in late 2012.
Kristi enjoys camping, hiking, and horseback riding with her husband and daughter; but never goes far without a good book.

Jarrod joined the firm in January of 2012. After graduating from the University of Northern Colorado in 2007 with a degree in finance, he started a home remodeling company with his father. After that venture, Jarrod moved to California where he met his wife, Shannon. He then spent a short time in Mexico with a mission organization and two years as a youth pastor in Gunnison, CO. He recently returned to UNC to take some additional classes in accounting in hopes of pursuing his CPA certification later in 2012. At the firm Jarrod is responsible for preparing both individual and business tax returns.
In his spare time, Jarrod volunteers at projectSALT church in Greeley. He enjoys going on dates with his wife, hanging out with friends, eating, and occasionally exercising.

Steven joined Soukup, Bush & Associates in September 2009 where he prepares individual and business tax returns and assists with attestation engagements. Steven graduated from the University of Wyoming with his Master’s of Science in Accounting degree in 2009, and graduated cum laude in December 2007 from the University of Wyoming with his Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree.
Steven is an active member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Colorado Society of CPAs. He currently serves on the Finance Committee for the United Way of Larimer County, and sits on the board of directors for Think Compassion, Inc. Steven is actively involved with the Breakfast Rotary Club of Fort Collins. He was recently selected to participate in the Leadership Fort Collins class of 2011-2012.
In his spare time, Steven enjoys spending time with his wife, and experiencing the outdoors by fishing, camping, and golfing.

Peggy has been a member of the Soukup, Bush & Associates team since November of 1990 and is the firm's Chief Operating Officer. She is also responsible for the preparation of individual, business and fiduciary tax returns and assists clients with QuickBooks and payroll issues. Peggy currently serves as a member of the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce Red Carpet committee. Prior to joining the firm, she held positions in the private business sector for over 14 years. Peggy received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Accounting degree from Pittsburg State University and is a member of the Colorado Society of CPAs.
Peggy enjoys spending time with her husband, Robert, son, Jerod and Jerod's wife, Sarah. She likes to travel, shop, watch football, and she hopes to put her golf clubs to better use.

 Toby joined the Soukup, Bush and Associates team in October 2007. His primary responsibilities are preparation of business and individual tax returns and assistance with attestation services. In 2001, Toby graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, Accounting. Before joining the team, Toby was employed in the public accounting sector here in Fort Collins.
Toby enjoys all outdoor activities but primarily spends his time fishing and golfing as well as being an avid food enthusiast.

 Jenny joined Soukup, Bush & Associates in July of 2007. Her primary responsibilities are the handling of client information, including preparing complete tax return packages for clients and processing new and existing client information, and the daily administrative tasks of the office. Jenny also assists each associate with various client and office related projects, and is responsible for preparing year-end organization packets for clients to assist them in the upcoming tax season. During tax season, Jenny trains and supervises our staff of college interns.
In her spare time, Jenny likes spending time with her husband and two children, Cole and Maddy, and her parents and sister. She also enjoys shopping, bike riding, reading, and heading to the Colorado mountains for a long weekend.

Teresa joined the firm in December of 2001. She is responsible for the preparation and review of tax returns as well as the supervision of clients with a concentration in real estate investment and development. Teresa enjoys teaching and is responsible for reviewing and supervising the preparation of the firm's yearly publication Tax Planning with LLCs and LLPs and Advanced Planning and Case Studies for Partnerships and LLCs which are used in coordination with a yearly CPE course given through the Colorado Society of CPAs.
Teresa graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in education and graduated from Colorado State University in 2001 with a Master of Science in accounting. She is an active member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Colorado Society of CPAs.
Teresa enjoys spending time with her two beautiful girls and being outdoors, gardening and taking long walks.

Karen joined the firm as an intern for the 2010 tax season and will formally begin as an associate in Septermber 2012. She prepares both individual and business tax returns. Karen graudated magna cum laude from Colorado State University in December 2010 with her Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in accounting. Currently, she is working on her Master of Accountancy degree at CSU with a specialization in taxation, and will be graduating in May 2012.
In her spare time, Karen enjoys spending time with friends and family, working out, and reading on her Kindle.

Originally from Hawaii, Jared enjoys spending time with friends, playing volleyball and tennis, reading, and hiking on those sunny Colorado days. He spends his winter days under layers of clothing and blankets wondering why he decided to leave the tropical weather of Maui.

Rebecca joined the firm in October 2005. She graduated from University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1996 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting. Rebecca became licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Nebraska in 1999 and in Colorado in 2006. She is an active member of the American Institute of CPAs, Colorado Society of CPAs and the Nebraska Society of CPAs. Relocating from Nebraska, Rebecca brings experience in tax preparation and review of various entities, tax consulting and planning, and the preparation of compilations and reviews. She is also a Certified Quickbooks Professional Advisor.
In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her husband and two girls and getting outdoors to enjoy the Colorado sunshine.

Pat has been a member of our firm since October 2005. Prior to joining our firm, she was employed as a CPA for 18 years at a firm in Longmont, Colorado working with individuals and not-for-profit entities. In addition to preparing income tax returns for individuals and small businesses, Pat assists clients with payroll tax and employment issues.
Pat graduated from Colorado State University and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Colorado Society of CPAs. Currently, she is treasurer of the Fort Collins Children's Theatre, Inc. and volunteers as a classroom teacher for Junior Achievement-Rocky Mountain, Inc.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and following the CSU Rams.

Sharon joined the firm in August of 1996 after working six years at a small CPA firm in southern California. She is responsible for various phases of tax planning and compliance as well as the supervision of the firm's cost segregation studies.
Sharon is a CSU alumnus with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and is an active member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Colorado Society of CPAs. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Women’s Resource Center, Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) and the Fort Collins Children’s Theatre. Mika joined the firm in November of 1997. She graduated from Angelo State University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting. Mika was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Colorado in 1996 and Texas in 1994. Mika is in charge of the firm's 401(k) audits, small business audits, reviews, and compilations, responsible for review and supervision of tax returns, and involved in tax consulting, planning and internal control reviews for clients.
Mika is a Certified CaseWare instructor and consultant. In addition, Mika was involved with the implementation of the firm's change to paperless operations several years ago. This involved training the staff on new software systems, modifying the systems of the firm to enhance the efficiencies of a paperless office, and preparing internal flow charts and narratives to define the new paperless systems.
Mika enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. Family time includes outdoor activities such as golf, skiing, softball, and hiking.

 Dan joined the firm in July of 2010. He graduated with honors from Belmont University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting. Dan played on the Belmont University Baseball Team from 2001-2004 and was named to the NCAA Baseball Academic All American Team in 2004. He received his Masters in Accounting in 2005 also from Belmont University while achieving a 3.9 G.PA.
Prior to joining the firm, Dan had five years experience at a multinational accounting firm, Deloitte & Touche LLP where he was primarily involved in audits and reviews of various privately held entities whose revenues ranged from $50 million to $13 billion. In Dan’s final year at Deloitte, he supervised the audit of a 13 billion dollar privately held company.
His current responsibilities include financial statement and 401K audits, internal control and financial statement reviews, compilations, and the preparation of tax returns and projections. He received his Certified Public Accountant license in 2007. Dan is a member of the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
In his spare time Dan enjoys spending time with his wife Lauren, their daughter Corinne, and the rest of his family. He enjoys playing golf and skiing.

Jennifer joined Soukup, Bush & Associates, P.C. in January 2012. She graduated from Front Range Community College in Westminister, CO in 1997 with an Associate's of Arts degree in Accounting. Since then, she has been working in private and public accounting for 16 years, responsible for such tasks as the preparation of financial statements, payroll and payroll tax returns, accounts payable and receivable and other bookkeeping roles. Before coming to Soukup, Bush and Associates, she worked full time for a public accounting firm for 6 1/2 years, and was most recently working as a corporate accountant for a private company in Windsor. At the firm she provides bookkeeping services to clients by preparing monthly financial statements, bank reconcilations and quarterly and annual payroll tax returns. She also assists clients with QuickBooks questions.
Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband Dave, and daughter Kaitlyn. She loves to travel to any tropical place and in the summer enjoys spending time outdoors boating and camping. |

 After graduating from Colorado State University in the spring of 2007, Julie joined the firm in September. She moved to Fort Collins to pursue a Master of Accountancy degree with a specialization in taxation at CSU. Before moving to Colorado, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and French from Augustana College in Illinois. She prepares individual and business tax returns and works on audits of Employee Benefit Plans.
When not preparing tax returns, Julie can be found baking desserts. She is thrilled that she has almost conquered the deflating effects of the high altitude! She also enjoys working out and spending time outdoors.
