Mark J. Soukup, CPA

Mark Soukup is President of Soukup, Bush and Associates, P.C., a position he has held since the formation of the firm in 1989. His extensive experience includes employment as a senior tax accountant at the
Denver
office of Arthur Anderson & Co. Mark graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. In 1978 he received his Masters of Science Degree, Taxation, from
Colorado
State
University
. He oversees all areas of the firm’s work. Mark specializes in tax planning for locally owned businesses, health care professionals and real estate enterprises. He has developed and taught national webcasts for the CSCPA on cost segregation studies of which the firm is a recognized leader in developing cost segregation reports.
One of Mark’s passions is teaching continuing education seminars for the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA) in
Colorado
and many other states. Since 1984, 20,000 CPAs have attended his Tax Year in Review and Planning classes. He currently teaches Tax Planning with Limited Liability Companies and Limited Liability Partnerships and Advanced Planning and Case Studies for Partnerships & Limited Liability Companies for the CSCPA.
Mark has been an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants for over 25 years. He currently serves as a Director for First National Bank of
Colorado
, on the Board of Directors for the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado, on the Executive Committee of Junior Achievement of Northern Colorado, as a Director of SKYhill and on the Continuing Professional Education Board for the Colorado Society of CPAs.
In his spare time, Mark enjoys spending time with his wife, Jenny, and his children Julie, Reed, Dan and Dan’s wife Lauren. He is an avid bike rider and enjoys golf, reading and fly fishing. |

Scott E. Bush, CPA, CVA

Scott is a shareholder with Soukup, Bush & Associates, P.C. He is actively involved in assisting the owners of small and medium sized businesses with income tax, estate planning, valuation, accounting and management consulting needs. Scott manages the audit, accounting and valuation practice for the firm. He also became a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) in 1995.
Scott received his B.S. in Business Administration, Accounting, from the University of Northern Colorado in 1988 and is an active member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Colorado Society of CPAs and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. Scott has also served as President of the Northern Chapter of the Colorado Society of CPAs and on the Board of Directors as Treasurer for the Colorado Society of CPAs.
Scott enjoys spending time with his spouse Allison and his son Nathan, and he stays active playing softball, golf and basketball. |

Laurie A. Anderson, CPA

Laurie became an associate of the firm in October of 2004. She is responsible for preparing income tax returns for a variety of entities and has worked on cost segregation reports. Her previous experience includes not-for-profits audits, compilations, and reviews.
Laurie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from the University of Northern Colorado where she later returned and completed her studies in business administration. In 2003, she realized her goal of becoming a Certified Public Accountant.

Peggy L. Clark

Peggy has been a member of the Soukup, Bush & Associates team since November of 1990 and is the firm’s Chief Operating Offier. She is also responsible for the preparation of individual, business and fiduciary tax returns and assists clients with QuickBooks and payroll issues. Peggy is the organizer of the annual firm sponsored Economic Forecast. Prior to joining the firm, she held positions in the private business sector for over 14 years. Peggy received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Accounting degree from Pittsburg State University.
Peggy enjoys spending time with her husband, Robert and son, Jerod. She likes to travel, shop, watch football, and she hopes to put her golf clubs to better use.

Toby D. Clary

Toby joined the Soukup, Bush and Associates team in October 2007. His primary responsibilities are preparation of business and individual tax returns and assistance with attestation services. In 2001, Toby graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, Accounting. Before joining the team, Toby was employed in the public accounting sector here in Fort Collins.
Toby enjoys all outdoor activities but primarily spends his time fishing and golfing as well as being an avid food enthusiast.

Jennifer L. Debelak

Jenny joined SBA in July of 2007. She is responsible for daily administrative duties as well as tax return processing. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a mortgage loan processor for five years. Jenny enjoys the challenges of working in a new field and her day-to-day interactions with clients and co-workers.
In her spare time, Jenny likes spending time with her friends and family, including her husband and son, shopping, and traveling.

Kevin M. Dryg, CPA, CVA

Since joining the firm in 2000, Kevin has been involved in a wide variety of the firm's operations including tax, business valuation, cost segregation studies, audits, reviews, and compilations. His main areas of practice now include business valuation and tax compliance, consulting, and planning. He enjoys developing relationships with individual and business clients and assisting them with the tax and advisory services they need to achieve success.
Kevin received his Bachelor of Business Administration with a double major in accounting and management from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 1995, and is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. He served as President of the Northern Chapter of the Colorado Socity of CPAs from 2004 to 2008, and is currently the Treasurer of the Loveland Mountain View Rotary Club.
Kevin enjoys skiing, hiking, golf and other outdoor activities.

Bari-Dawn Eaton

Bari-Dawn joined the Soukup, Bush & Associates team in October 2005. She is responsible for preparing tax returns for a variety of entities and preparing financial statment audits, reviews and compilations. Her previous experience includes tax preparation and audits, reviews and compilations, with a concentration in the not for profit industry. Bari-Dawn graduated from Colorado State University in 1996, with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, Accounting.
She is an active member of the Colorado Society of CPA’s. When presented with the opportunity Bari-Dawn has been engaged to speak at public events. She enjoys traveling, theater, keeping up with current events, as well as spending time outdoors hiking and doing charitable work for various organizations around the community.

Nicole M. Gassmann

Nicole joined the Soukup, Bush & Associates team as an intern for the 2005 tax season and formally began as an associate in January of 2006. She is responsible for preparing both individual and business tax returns. Nicole earned her Bachelor Administration degree in Accounting from Colorado State University in 2006.
As a native of Colorado, Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband in the mountains, skiing in the winter, and jet skiing during the summer. |

Monique M. Henderson, CPA

Monique joined the firm in August 2005, after a year and a half of experience at a large local firm in mid Michigan, where she was involved in the audits of various non-profit and governmental entities. Her current responsibilities include the preparation of tax returns and projections. Monique graduated from the University of Michigan in 2003 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree concentrating in Accounting. She received her Colorado Certified Public Accountant’s license in July 2005. Monique is a member of the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants and the AICPA.

Brenda L. Hofmann

Brenda has been with our firm since September of 1997 and has extensive administrative and computer network experience. Her main focuses are customer service and organization of the firm's computer files, software and hardware with a heavy emphasis on our firm’s paperless technology. She is responsible for the implementation and training of any new software packages brought into the firm and the training of the intern staff each tax season. Brenda is also responsible for assisting with the annual Economic Forecast, which is held in partnership with First National Bank.
Brenda enjoys vacationing with her family in Cabo San Lucas.

Tara joined the firm in October of 2005, after previously working with First National Bank of Fort Collins. She graduated cum laude from Baylor University in May of 2004. Tara earned her degree in Finance with an emphasis in accounting. She is a member of the Colorado Society of CPA's. Within the Firm, Tara is responsible for preparing individual and business tax returns, cost segregations and tax projections.
Originally from Washington, Tara likes the sunshine of Colorado. In her spare time, Tara volunteers at Immanuel Community Church. She enjoys being outdoors, especially on the water, reading a good book, and spending time with her husband, family and friends.

Teresa joined the firm in December of 2001. She is responsible for the preparation and review of tax returns as well as the supervision of clients with a concentration in real estate investment and development. Teresa enjoys teaching and is responsible for reviewing and supervising the preparation of the firm’s yearly publication Tax Planning with LLCs and LLPs and Advanced Planning anc Case Studies for Partnerships and LLCs which are used in coordination with a yearly CPE course given through the Colorado Society of CPAs.
Teresa graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in education and graduated from Colorado State University in 2001 with a Master of Science in accounting. She is an active member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Colorado Society of CPAs. Teresa enjoys spending time with her two beautiful girls and being outdoors, gardening and taking long walks. |

Julie A. Lipes

After graduating from Colorado State University in the spring of 2007, Julie joined the firm in September. She moved to Fort Collins to pursue a Master of Accountancy degree with a specialization in taxation at CSU. Before moving to Colorado, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and French from Augustana College in Illinois. She prepares individual and business tax returns and has recently began working on audits.
When not preparing tax returns, Julie can be found baking desserts. She is thrilled that she has almost conquered the deflating effects of the high altitude! She also enjoys working out and spending time outdoors.

Rebecca joined the firm in October 2005. She graduated from University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1996 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting. Rebecca became licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Nebraska in 1999 and in Colorado in 2006. She is an active member of the American Institute of CPAs, Colorado Society of CPAs and the Nebraska Society of CPAs. Relocating from Nebraska, Rebecca brings experience in tax preparation and review of various entities, tax consulting and planning, and the preparation of compilations and reviews. She is also a Certified Quickbooks Professional Advisor.
In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her husband and two girls and getting outdoors to enjoy the Colorado sunshine. |

Pat has been a member of our firm since October 2005. Prior to joining our firm, she was employed as a CPA for 18 years at a firm in Longmont, Colorado working with individuals and not-for-profit entities. In addition to preparing income tax returns for individuals and small businesses, Pat assists clients with payroll tax and employment issues. She brings a wealth of experience with individual tax issues to our firm. She is a member of the American Institute of CPA’s and the Colorado Society of CPA’s.
Pat is an alumnus from Colorado State University and in her spare time enjoys spending time with her family and following the CSU Rams.

Sharon joined the firm in August of 1996 after working six years at a small CPA firm in southern California. She is responsible for various phases of tax planning and compliance as well as the supervision of the firm's cost segregation studies.
Sharon is a CSU alumnus with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and is an active member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Colorado Society of CPAs. She currently serves on the Finance Committee for the United Way of Larimer County and is Treasurer for the Fort Collins Children's Theatre.
In her spare time, Sharon enjoys hiking, biking, and hanging out with her daughters Erin and Emily.

Mika M. Schneider, CPA

Mika joined the firm in November of 1997. She graduated from Angelo State University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting. Mika was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Colorado in 1996 and Texas in 1994. Mika is in charge of the firm’s small business audits, reviews, and compilations, responsible for review and supervision of tax returns, and involved in tax consulting, planning and internal control reviews for clients.
Mika is a Certified QuickBooks Professional Advisor and a CaseWare trainer. In addition, Mika was involved with the implementation of the firm’s recent change to paperless operations. This involved training the staff on new software systems, modifying the systems of the firm to enhance the efficiencies of a paperless office, and preparing internal flow charts and narratives to define the new paperless systems.
In her spare time, Mika enjoys spending time with her family and friends and playing as much golf as possible, along with other outdoor activities. |
